Circuit Court Division

Circuit Court prosecutes approximately 400 serious felony cases each year.  These range from Homicide to Impaired Driving.

District Court Division

District Court handles approximately 4,000 criminal and must appear traffic cases annually.

Family Violence Unit

The Family Violence Unit is housed in our Circuit Court office, but is responsible for prosecuting cases in both Circuit and District Courts.

Juvenile Court Division

Juvenile cases are prosecuted differently than adult criminal cases.  The juvenile may be referred to the Department of Juvenile Services or they may be referred to the State’s Attorney’s Office where a petition is filed alleging the criminal conduct.

Child Support Division

The Circuit Court Child Support Division is grant funded.  The Division handles approximately 2,400 cases annually including establishing child support and paternity orders and enforcement of the support orders.
